FleetCo’s new mobile app enables efficiencies on site

FleetCo – proud Thiess company – in collaboration with app developer Rinami, is about to launch a new mobile on- and off-hire inspection app that will enable time and cost savings for its customers, through a streamlined and transparent inspection process.

Thiess Asset Engineer Nicholas Craig and Project Development Manager – East Lochie McCabe recently visited Thiess’ Mt Thorley workshop to trial the app and ensure its readiness to roll out across other projects and sites.

The app replaces the old inspection process, which was very manual and paper-based, allowing tradespeople to complete on- and off-hire inspections thoroughly and efficiently, loading results directly to a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) in real-time. As a result, the inspections ensure we consistently deliver high-quality assets to our clients.

A robust and auditable inspection tool gives our customers an accurate snapshot of the machines condition at any point in time. For customers in remote locations, this can remove the need to make costly trips to personally inspect the equipment.

The app testing feedback was positive with NSW Maintenance Manager Alex Horstmann confirming the technology will make the inspection process more efficient.

“I tell my fitters – when completing an inspection, to come back to me with 100 photos of the equipment,” Alex said.

“This app makes sure this happens and stores the data and photos directly into the system for me to access live, even during the inspection.”

The team tested the app on several machines that had been hired to a valued customer in NSW and were in the final stages of their hire preparation. Lochie said the trial was a success.

“We had to ensure our people using the app could provide feedback on its development so that we can effectively roll out the final product in the coming months,” Lochie said.

“Nicholas Craig provided invaluable technical support to integrate the mobile app with our CMMS and liaised with the app developer, Rinami, to deliver a great product.”

The app is set to be rolled out in Q3 this year to the FleetCo maintenance teams in Qld, NSW and WA. If you would like more information, please reach out to the team.
