FleetCo delivers Hitachi EX3600-6

FleetCo’s well established relationships and commitment to client needs has ensured the quick mobilisation and commissioning of a brand-new excavator in four weeks.

The excavator, a Hitachi EX3600-6, is the latest addition to FleetCo’s fleet to support the commodity boom of nickel, gold, copper and iron ore in Western Australia.

FleetCo’s WA Business Development Manager Jason Bonner said he knew interest would be high due to the excavator’s versatility and high utilisation across the state in all commodities.

“Roy Hill was interested in the high-quality unit for their operations in the Pilbara,” Jason said.

“When I spoke to their team, I knew we could meet their operational needs and mobilise the excavator fairly quickly with flexible commercial terms.”

Once the contract was agreed, FleetCo acted quickly to mobilise the unit from Hitachi in Perth to Roy Hill Mine where commissioning then took place.

Clear communication and responsive action between FleetCo, Roy Hill and Hitachi meant the process from booking transport slots to commissioning was completed in four weeks.

FleetCo’s Global Manager Darren Toyne said the successful mobilisation was an example of the value FleetCo provides.

“Our ability to take an initial enquiry in Mid-March, negotiate a contract, transport a 350t excavator 1300km and have it commissioned at the start of May shows our commitment to delivering for our clients,” Darren said.

“It’s a credit to all three businesses and shows what can be achieved when working towards a common goal.
