FleetCo reaches five-year milestone

FleetCo reached a key milestone in July when its operations hit the five-year mark trading as a wholly-owned Thiess subsidiary delivering profitable returns for equipment dry hire.

Since its first contract placing five Caterpillar 797 ultra-class mining trucks into a client project in QLD, the team has: 

• Increased its fleet size to 100 machines 
• Secured two large fleet contracts on both the East & West Coast  
• Averaged in excess of 400 SMU hours across the fleet on a monthly basis 
• Received a positive net promoter score (a measure of client satisfaction) two years running. 

In March, the team secured a contract for a greenfield site in the Hunter Valley providing a mining fleet that included excavators, haul trucks, and ancillary equipment.  

General Manager Darren Toyne said FleetCo had grown from strength-to-strength because of the investment in core fleet, and teamwork. 

“We’ve been able to provide customers with a comprehensive range of high quality, reliable fleet to meet their project size and scale when they’ve needed it,” Darren said.  

“Available and well-maintained fleet is what drives repeat business, as well as responsive client service. 

“Some of the biggest challenges relate to machine reliability and that’s where teamwork comes in. 

“We leverage the capabilities of the broader Thiess business to maximise machine availability that translates to improved production, and ultimately customer satisfaction.” 

FleetCo draws on Thiess’ asset maintenance systems, preventative maintenance techniques and advanced software that tracks machine health to offer customers superior maintenance services. 

Darren explains in FleetCo’s most recent brand survey, individuals said FleetCo’s relationship to Thiess was one of the factors that set them apart from their competitors.
