FleetCo leading the way in the Goldfields

FleetCo has recently partnered with a leading gold miner in the Eastern Goldfields to deliver 6 brand new Komatsu HD1500-8 haul trucks for a long-term hire.  This hire grows FleetCo’s presence in the region, which is fast becoming a significant part of the greater business.   

The trucks were purchased in 2021 with the specific goal of placing them into the region.  “We had significant enquiries about the trucks as soon as we let our customers know that we had them.”  Global Manager Darren Toyne said.  With competitive rates and industry leading maintenance support, the client who secured them saw them as a preferred option over purchasing, and as a result wanted all 6 trucks for a long-term hire.   

The hire didn’t come without its problems.  With transport permits hard to come by in WA the trucks start date was delayed.  “Operating a global business in COVID has unique challenges and this was no different.  Through strong client relationships and positive communication, we were able to find a solution to the problem together.” Asset Manager Greg Arthy said.   

There are currently over 30 active gold mines in the Goldfields with more coming online in 2022 and is currently the fastest growing region for FleetCo.         

Fun Fact; The Komatsu HD1500 has 1,479HP QSK50 engine that burns on average 78litres/hr at a medium load factor.  It comes with a 94m3 tray giving it a payload of 142t.
