In 2018, FleetCo began early engagement with a new project to understand potential dry hire needs.
The key for a successful project start was the sourcing of the correct sized machines that could work within the overhead powerline restrictions, meet strict sound suppression levels, and comply with MDG15 guidelines for mining operations in the Hunter Valley.
FleetCo was able to meet these client requirements by mobilising a fleet of Cat 789’s and ancillary equipment in time for project commencement. Leveraging Thiess’ Operations Maintenance Support, a permanent resource was available on site to supervise maintenance and action critical tasks immediately, while giving visibility to the client.
In the first six months on site, the fleet achieved greater than 95% availability allowing the client to meet their production goals. The Liebherr 9350 Excavator performed well above the client’s expectations and averaged 575 hours per month over this timeframe.
